Jesus taught that there is a great indwelling Power and Intelligence that heals by the recognition of its Presence. The purpose of the practitioner is to recognize the Presence, grasp the immensity of this concept, draw it through mind until it becomes a living reality, and recognize its operation.
Jesus knew intuitively that God and His universe are inseparable. In fact, instead of speaking of God and man, or God and anything, he spoke of God in His universe, in man, in everything, through this inherent Presence. He taught that the Infinite cannot be divided against itself; it could not possibly be anything less than a single complete Whole.
Since man is a part of this Great Whole, he never is nor could be separated from God. His sicknesses are, therefore, only thoughts that have taken form and are never unchangeable realities.
He knew that God, being indivisible, must be in His totality in every man. All of God must be present at every point. Thus, whenever he spoke his word in the presence of disease, he was not bringing up one isolated soldier to rout the enemy; he was bringing up the entire army, and he knew ahead of time that victory was his because there was nothing that could stand against the Almighty Presence.
This God within was his daily associate. He walked and talked with men outwardly, but inwardly he walked and talked with the whole of the Father within. Subjected as he was to the terrific assault of the world-thought upon his mentality, he lived withdrawn in the deep centers of his being, holding his spiritual center open to the infilling Presence of Spirit, for "spirit with Spirit can meet."
